GM GM! Kantara’s Deep Fakes & Identity Proofing Working Group is looking for some quick perspectives from security and identity professionals on deepfakes if you’re down to share (10 min):

This initiative is driven by Heather Vescent, coauthor of The Cyber Attack Survival Manual: Tools for Surviving Everything from Identity Theft to the Digital Apocalypse, and came across my desk from James Monaghan (Verifiable Ventures, former Evernym). They might both be great contributors.
As we discuss the technical capabilities around sibyl resistance and trust, it might be interesting to consider the questions she poses back here in the forum – such as How worried are you about Data Breaches vs Social Engineering vs Deepfakes? What’s the difference between a synthetic identity and a simulated human?
It sometimes feels like the urgent need for sibyl resistance in web3 was partially self-inflicted by early airdrop practices – and so the nuance of these terms invites us to consider a broader range of definitions within what we might consider to be “bot.”
